The various Fruit Waxes from Koster Keunen are all natural semi-solid waxed derived from the rind of the fruit (Orange, Lemon, or Grapefruit) through physical processing (no chemical reactions or solvent extraction).
Koster Keunen has produced the first commercially available fruit wax. The wax in the peel of the fruit protects the fruit against the environment while at the same time allowing the orange to breathe and maintain its essential water balance. Our fruit wax offers similar protection to the skin. Orange wax is an emollient with an excellent skin feel. The Lemon Peel Wax helps to firm the formulation and has a beautiful citrus scent. The phytosterols in the fruit waxes are co-emulsifiers, which aid in stabilizing emulsions.
