History
In 1852, in the small Dutch village of Aalst, Koster Keunen established its first factory. We have been a family owned company ever since, always staying true to our founding principles of quality, service and innovation. This philosophy brought us great results early on and has helped the company grow and develop to the highly successful organization we are today.
Back in the 1800's refining was a simple process of bleaching beeswax in the sun. Nowadays, we have highly sophisticated equipment and expert chemists to help produce the finest variety of waxes in the world...waxes that deliver unique benefits, helping enable our customers' products to look great, feel fantastic and work superbly. For over 150 years our company has been about continually developing and improving the refining process and raw material selection for superior quality end products. Throughout our history we have sought to be innovative, always meeting, and trying to exceed, the needs of the time - from quality beeswax candles illuminating the great palaces and cathedrals of Europe in the late 1800s, to becoming the first natural wax company in the USA to obtain the USDA Organic Handling Certificate in 2008.
