Ingredients

Kostol Natural E

Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a light to medium, wet break, low thickening. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 2-8%.

Bayberry Wax

Natural wax extracted from the Bayberry fruit. Low melt point solid, behaves like a butter in most formulations. Emollient, thickener, matte finish. Usage Level 0.5- 15%.

Kester Wax K-45

Light, non-greasy emollient derived from jojoba. Improves softness, spreadability, and after feel in leave-on formulas. Conditions skin and hair without buildup; adds glide, silkiness, and stability.

Procedure

  • Combine Phase A ingredients and heat to 80 – 85°C.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients and heat to 80 – 85°C.
  • Once both Phases are at temperature, add Phase B to Phase A and increase mixing speed.
  • When the emulsion is smooth, begin cooling with slower mixing to 50°C or under.
  • Pour into desired containers.

Stability Information

Three months at 45°C, three months at room temperature, three freeze/thaw cycles.
