Kostol NatureMuls

Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a medium to long break, with some viscosity growth. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 3-8%.

Kester Wax K-45

Light, non-greasy emollient derived from jojoba. Improves softness, spreadability, and after feel in leave-on formulas. Conditions skin and hair without buildup; adds glide, silkiness, and stability.

Kester Wax K-24

Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Low melt point semi-solid, melts on body contact, provides cooling sensation. Adds slip, reduces greasy feel, dimethicone alternative. Usage level up to 50%.

Procedure

  • Combine Phase A ingredients and heat to 80 – 85°C.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients and heat to 80 – 85°C.
  • Once both Phases are at temperature, add Phase B to Phase A and increase mixing speed.
  • When the emulsion is smooth, begin cooling with slower mixing to 50°C or under.
  • Add Phase C, continuing to mix well. Continue to cool while mixing to desired pour temperature.

Stability Information

Three months at 45°C, three months at room temperature, three freeze/thaw cycles.
