Ingredients

Kostol NatureMuls

Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a medium to long break, with some viscosity growth. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 3-8%.

Organic Emulsifying Wax

A blend of certified organic raw materials that produce emulsions over a wide range of concentrations acting as the primary or secondary emulsifier. Anionic emulsifier. Usage level 4-8%.

Kester Wax K-24

Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Low melt point semi-solid, melts on body contact, provides cooling sensation. Adds slip, reduces greasy feel, dimethicone alternative. Usage level up to 50%.

Procedure

  • Combine Phase A ingredients one at a time, then heat to 80 – 85°C.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients and heat to 80 – 85°C.
    Once both Phases are at temperature, add Phase B to Phase A and increase mixing speed.
  • When emulsion is smooth, cool to under 70°C. Slowly sprinkle in Phase C.
  • Continue cooling to 45°C or under and pour / pump into appropriate containers.

Stability Information

Three months at 45°C, three months at room temperature, three
freeze/thaw cycles.
