Ingredients

Kostol Natural E

Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a light to medium, wet break, low thickening. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 2-8%.

White Beeswax

Natural wax produced by honeybees. Multifunctional; excels at making anhydrous formulas soft and pliable, and making emulsions glossy, thick and with excellent pickup. Structurant, plasticizer, thickener.

Kester Wax K-45

Light, non-greasy emollient derived from jojoba. Improves softness, spreadability, and after feel in leave-on formulas. Conditions skin and hair without buildup; adds glide, silkiness, and stability.

Procedure

  • Sprinkle Bentonite into water and mix until fully hydrated heating to 80-85°C.
  • Premix Glycerin and Xanthan Gum, add to Phase A and mix until uniform.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients and heat to 80-85°C, and add to Phase A.
  • Mix at high speed until emulsion is smooth, then cool to desired pour temperature.

Stability Information

Three months at RT, three months at 50°C, three freeze/thaw cycles
