Ingredients

  • Sunflower Wax: Natural wax extracted from sunflower seeds.Very high melting point and excellent structuring capabilities, increases stick structure and stability. Structurant. Usage level 1-15%.
  • White Beeswax: Natural wax produced by honeybees. Multifunctional; excels at making anhydrous formulas soft and pliable, and making emulsions glossy, thick and with excellent pickup. Structurant, plasticizer, thickener.
  • Orange Wax: Natural wax, upcycled from orange peels. Low melt point wax that provides a unique scent and color. Adds interest to the label and energy in the formula. Emollient. Usage level 0.5-10%.

Procedure

  • Combine all ingredients, melt at 80 – 85°C and mix until uniform, using shear if necessary.
  • Pour into molds at about 85°C, topping off as necessary.
  • Allow to cool undisturbed to room temperature.

Stability Information

Three months at 45 °C, three months at room temperature, three freeze/thaw cycles.

Additional Notes


For vegan natural version, replace Beeswax with Kester Wax BWR.

SPF estimate is 15. For increased SPF, replace Beeswax with Enhans SB-63 or Enhans CY-62.
