Ingredients

Kostol Natural E

Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a light to medium, wet break, low thickening. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 2-8%

Bayberry Wax

Natural wax sustainably sourced from Columbina. Had a beautiful butter texture that thickens this emulsion 2x over Shea or Cocoa butter.

Kester Wax K-24

Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Low melt point semi-solid, melts on body contact, provides cooling sensation. Adds slip, reduces greasy feel, dimethicone alternative. Usage level up to 50%.

Procedure

  • Sprinkle Bentonite into water and mix until fully hydrated heating to 80-85°C
  • Premix Glycerin and Xanthan Gum, add to Phase A and mix until uniform.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients and heat to 80-85°C, and add to Phase A.
  • Mix at high speed until emulsion is smooth, then cool to desired pour temperature

Stability Information

Three months at RT, three months at 45°C, three freeze/thaw cycles.
