Ingredients

Cocoa Butter

Natural wax extracted from Cocoa beans. Low melt point solid, provides thickening, some structure, and nourishment to skin and hair. Emollient, thickener, glossy finish. Usage level up to 100%.

Bayberry Wax

Natural wax extracted from the Bayberry fruit. Low melt point solid, behaves like a butter in most formulations. Emollient, thickener, matte finish. Usage Level 0.5-15%.

Orange Wax

Natural wax, upcycled from orange peels. Low melt point wax that provides a unique scent and color. Adds interest to the label and energy in the formula. Emollient. Usage level 0.5-10%.

Procedure

  • Combine Phase A ingredients, allow to cool below 50°C.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients, and heat to 80 – 85°C until melted, allow to cool below 50°C.
  • Add Phase A to Phase B. Hand mix for five minutes.
  • Homogenize mixture until trace occurs.
  • Once desirable trace is achieved, pour into molds
  • Allow to set for 24-48 hours, and unmold and cut to continue curing process.
  • After one week of curing, soap is ready for use.

Stability Information

  • Three months at 45 °C
  • Three months at room temperature
  • Three freeze/thaw cycles
