Ingredients

Bayberry Wax

Natural wax produced by honeybees. Multifunctional; excels at making anhydrous formulas soft and pliable, and making emulsions glossy, thick and with excellent pickup. Structurant, plasticizer, thickener.

NaturalAtum

Natural wax blend designed to mimic the properties of petrolatum. Improves emolliency and lubricity in all systems. Thickener, film-former. Usage level 0.5-25%.

Kester Wax K-60P

Naturally derived plasticizer. Increases melt point, stability, compatibility in anhydrous systems, thickens emulsions and provides texture. Usage level 0.5-20%.

Procedure

  • Sprinkle Bentonite into water and mix until fully hydrated heating to 80-85°C.
  • Premix Glycerin and Xanthan Gum, add to Phase A and mix until uniform.
  • Add remaining Phase A ingredients.
  • Combine Phase B materials and heat to 80-85°C.
  • Add to Phase A, mix at high speed until emulsion is smooth, then cool to 50°C or less.
  • Add Phase C, mix slowly and cool to desired pour temperature.

Stability Information

One month at RT, one month at 45°C.
