Ingredients

  • Bayberry Wax: Natural wax produced by honeybees. Multifunctional; excels at making anhydrous formulas soft and pliable, and making emulsions glossy, thick and with excellent pickup. Structurant, plasticizer, thickener.
  • NaturalAtum: Natural wax blend designed to mimic the properties of petrolatum. Improves emolliency and lubricity in all systems. Thickener, film-former. Usage level 0.5-25%.
  • Kester Wax K-60P: Naturally derived plasticizer. Increases melt point, stability, compatibility in anhydrous systems, thickens emulsions and provides texture. Usage level 0.5-20%.

Procedure

  • Sprinkle Bentonite into water and mix until fully hydrated heating to 80-85°C.
  • Premix Glycerin and Xanthan Gum, add to Phase A and mix until uniform.
  • Add remaining Phase A ingredients.
  • Combine Phase B materials and heat to 80-85°C.
  • Add to Phase A, mix at high speed until emulsion is smooth, then cool to 50°C or less.
  • Add Phase C, mix slowly and cool to desired pour temperature.

Stability Information

One month at RT, one month at 45°C.
