Kostol NatureMuls

Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a medium to long break, with some viscosity growth. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 3-8%.

Behenyl Alcohol 2275

Natural fatty alcohol wax of plant origin. Long chain fatty alcohol, promotes emulsion stability without viscosity. Palm-free, natural and vegan. Texturizer, moderate thickener. Usage level 2-10%.

Kester Wax K-24

Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Low melt point semi-solid, melts on body contact, provides cooling sensation. Adds slip, reduces greasy feel, dimethicone alternative. Usage level up to 50%.

Procedure

  • Combine Phase A ingredients one at a time, mixing well after each addition (glycerin and Siligel may be pre-mixed).
  • When Phase A is homogeneous, heat to 80 – 85°C with mixing.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients and heat to 80 – 85°C.
  • Once both Phases are at temperature, add Phase B to Phase A and increase mixing speed.
  • Cool to 45°C or under and pour / pump into appropriate containers.

Stability Information

  • Three months at 45°C
  • Three months at room temperature
  • Three freeze/thaw cycles
