Ingredients

  • Kostol Natural E: Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a light to medium, wet break, low thickening. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 2-8%.
  • Kester Wax K-48: Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Provides opacity and texture to emulsions, with minimal impact on viscosity. Secondary structurant in anhydrous formulations. Usage level 1-20%.
  • Kester Wax K-24: Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Low melt point semi-solid, melts on body contact, provides cooling sensation. Adds slip, reduces greasy feel, dimethicone alternative. Usage level up to 50%.

Procedure

  • Add Jaguar C-17 to water and disperse fully.
  • Add glycerin and begin heating to 80°C.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients and heat to 80-85°C, and add to Phase A.
  • Mix at high speed until emulsion is smooth, then cool at medium speed to 50°C or less.
  • Add Phase C, mix, and cool to RT.
  • Check pH, adjust to ~ 4-5 if needed.

Stability Information

Three months at room temperature, three months at 45°C,
three freeze/thaw cycles.
