Ingredients

  • Kester Wax K-60P: Naturally derived plasticizer. Increases melt point, stability, compatibility in anhydrous systems, thickens emulsions and provides texture. Usage level 0.5-20%.
  • Bayberry Wax: Natural wax extracted from the Bayberry fruit. Low melt point solid, behaves like a butter in most formulations. Emollient, thickener, matte finish. Usage Level 0.5-15%.
  • Sunflower Wax: Natural wax extracted from sunflower seeds.Very high melting point and excellent structuring capabilities, increases stick structure and stability. Structurant. Usage level 1-15%.
  • Kostol Natural E: Natural, PEG-free nonionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a light to medium, wet break, low thickening. Can be used as a primary or secondary emulsifier. Usage level 2-8%.

Procedure

  • Combine first three ingredients.
  • Sprinkle Bentonite in and mix well, while heating to 80-85°C, until fully hydrated.
  • Add remaining Phase A ingredients.
  • Combine Phase B materials and heat to 80-85°C.
  • Add Phase B to Phase A, mix at high speed until emulsion is smooth, then cool to 50–60°C and pour into containers.

Stability Information

Three months at 45°C, three months at room temperature, three freeze/thaw cycles.
